Good news for seniors who enjoy traveling but find the logistics overwhelming: senior tours can provide
a solution.
Senior tours are designed for people over the age of 60. They feature day trips with smaller groups, greater flexibility, a leisurely pace and comfortable accommodations.
For seniors with some health issues, these tours may be ideal. Considerations such as wheelchair accessibility can be arranged with the tour group, leaving seniors free to enjoy their travels. Purchasing travel insurance or filling prescriptions in another country can be pre-arranged with the coordinator of
the tour.
Seniors with health challenges who prefer to travel alone should make sure their trips are well-researched. “Plan thoroughly and well in advance to obtain and confirm lodging, accessibility, and available equipment,” says Cory Lee, a wheelchair-bound veteran. “Don’t give up, be determined, research, and ask others for advice and suggestions.”
