Last week Clinix Health Group hosted 200 senior citizens in Protea Glen. Held at the GOG Lifestyle Park, the celebration was set up to mark Mandela Day on July 18.
The celebrations included some real treats for the elderly. Lunch and traditional performances were provided as well as massages offered to all those who showed up. The idea behind the event was to find a special day – Mandela Day – to recognize and show appreciation for the elderly which the Clinix Health Group feels has been so supportive of them. Indeed, according to Matshepo Majola, marketing director of Clinix:
“They are the wise people who have guided us, the wise people who have stood the test of time through good and bad times to where we are today. With Clinix having been in communities, they are the people who have been supporting us.”
The senior citizens in attendance really seemed to appreciate it. They got to take blankets home as gifts to keep them warm throughout the rest of the winter. It was also a wonderful opportunity to commemorate all that Nelson Mandela did with the ANC.
